If you asked me a few months ago what July of 2013 would end up looking like, I’m pretty sure I would have shrugged my shoulders and made a “who knows?” kind of face. Breezy Point has been through a rough time since last summer — that’s putting it mildly. So, we made more plans this summer than we usually do. A sleep away camp for Kate, a soccer camp for Patrick, local lacrosse and basketball clinics for Emmett, even some fun with a Gaelic Football team for Paul (well, he only made one practice, but in his mind, that’s now “his sport”). We also spent a week away in Vermont at the home of some good friends. All of this was planned “just in case” all the “regular” Breezy things we do were missing this July.
And how did July of 2013 turn out? Great. Looking at the pictures, it looked a lot like the other July’s I’ve chronicled in these “Moments of the Month” posts. (Did you know that this July marks the two year anniversary of my little tradition? Yay!). With all the July birthdays, there were plenty of family barbecues and Carvel ice cream cakes. Plenty of back deck gatherings with singing and guitars. Plenty of beach days and lots of boogie boarding. (Check out the special boogie boarding post I did HERE).
There was also that awesome, relaxing week in Vermont — set here to my new favorite song, “Life is Better With You.”
Every summer does have its story …
Thanks for looking!
