March was a tough one. I was just TIRED of the winter that would NOT go AWAY. Some people have fun with cameras in the snow, but I was over it. Most of my snow pictures look from March look something like this:
I did capture lots of board game action, though.
My number three turned twelve in March. We still do a muffin party before school for every birthday. Some of us are more enthusiastic than others about the early start times that are required now that departure for schools is as early as 7am for some of them. Here, Paul (a morning person) tries to help Emmett (not a morning person) muster some enthusiasm.
You may also notice Paul’s uniform for the entire winter — pajamas worn inside out and backwards to magically bring on snow days. It worked WAY too many times, and eventually even he agreed that enough was enough. To celebrate Emmett, our music lover, we headed into the city for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Due to conflicting schedules and iffy weather, I didn’t do much celebrating for St. Patrick’s Day this year, but it was a treat to have some of our Irish cousins over for a quick visit in mid-March.
The night we had tickets to see Kate in Gypsy’s opening night at the High School, there was a full-on blizzard. But the show must go on!
Paul was especially excited for the Pinewood Derby this year.
As usual, some of my ‘sneak attack’ photos are my favorites.
Instagram AND my little video project are both great for reminding me of the other things I did each month … in this case, college visits and trips to the zoo, Kate getting her learner’s permit, a fun trip to a photography workshop in Indianapolis, a local election for Matt, and a night out for live music. These all seem so long ago already (which, I guess, they were!).
And last but not least, you can see the third installment of my fun new “One Second Every Day” video project HERE.
Thanks for looking — I hope you’re enjoying your spring!
