Inspired Magazine Lifestyle Issue Feature

I do love my analogies.

When the ladies over at NAPCP emailed asking me to write an article for the upcoming February Lifestyle Issue of Inspired Magazine, I did a happy dance and then a fair amount of waffling regarding WHAT on earth I would write about.  Family Lifestyle Photography is a suuuuuuper broad topic and they said I could write about anything I wanted within that topic.  Then, it came to me.  The reason this was a hard question in the first place is that the very term “family lifestyle photography” is so open to interpretation.  And I remembered an analogy I crafted in a blog post many years ago.  Of course! Compare photography to pizza!  Then, talk to the thousands of photographers in Inspired’s readership of professional child and family photographers about how to make pizza!

Well, it almost sounds silly when I say it like that.

Which is why I’ve decide to share the whole article here.  (I mean, snippets alone might lead you to think I was completely off my rocker, right?) I was honored to have been asked to contribute to this gorgeous magazine on a topic so very near and dear to my heart.  There’s nothing that makes me happier than being a family lifestyle photographer. Except – maybe – pizza.  (See?  It’s an analogy that keeps on giving!)
