Hello!
I’m back. We had a wonderful Christmas and a spectacular trip. But I’m not going to tell you about any of that right now, because … I haven’t shared anything about last October. (You get it, right? If I just SKIP over October and November, they’ll never see the light of day!)
Some thoughts I had when processing and preparing these images. Family travel — just getting out of the house, anywhere as a group — is really, really good for my family. I love home – don’t get me wrong. But big kids have their own lives, friends, activities, etc. and grown-ups are surrounded by responsibilities and distractions at home. Being away together is so, so good for all of us. College visits, weekend getaways, transcontinental trips, all of it.
Also. Music. I don’t play any music now (maybe I would be more involved if I wasn’t compulsively capturing it all for posterity), but being around all that music as a family is so FUN.
And finally. My baby boy is now nine years old.
Here’s October. Not many ‘everyday’ moments on the big cameras this month — the fall getaway/college visit photos were taken with my Fuji XT-1 and the birthday and back deck ones were taken with my big Canon. All other times there were client images on the big cameras. I’ve made up for it with my Instagram iPhone snaps for the most part.
My Instagram was busy, as usual:
Oh, there’s one more big thing that happened in October, but I’m going to share that in a separate post. In October, we had our very own family photo session with a photographer I’ve admired forever. It was so awesome, and SUCH a learning experience for me. Stay tuned for that post!
Thanks for looking,
~Jaye
