Funny story.
I’ve been photographing this family once or twice a year since little bro was in mom’s belly. That means that big bro and I, we go way back. You might say we’re buds. So when I showed up for his most recent session, he was ready to play. He peeked his head down the stairs as mom and I chatted a bit in the front hall, then he disappeared back up the stairs with a mischievous look in his eyes. I knew he was going to hide on me. Mom and I had a lot to catch up on, though, so we continued chatting a bit. When I finally started climbing on the stairs, ready to seek my sneaky subject, it was eerily quiet. Until I got to the top of the stairs, that is — when I heard muffled, but LOUD, terrified screaming. Yep, big bro had gone and hidden in the closet, closing the door on himself, and had found himself unable to get out. Dad and I were quick to rescue him, and I gave him a moment to recover with some hugs with Dad. He bounced right back, of course, and the session went swimmingly. We woke up sleepyhead baby brother, played around upstairs, then had some breakfast and headed outside. Yet another example that you just never know what’s going to happen when you’re in the business of family photography in Bronxville.
You can see the last session I did with this family HERE. And did you know that this mom is the one who introduced me to Ivonne at Kensington Paper? Yup, what she said was that she “collects nice people” and that she loved putting nice people together. I really, really liked that and am so happy to have met Ivonne. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you simply MUST go see THIS POST – especially if you haven’t ordered your holiday cards yet (Um, 15% off for you if you do)!
I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was great and they’re ready to gear up for the holiday season ahead.
Thanks for looking!
