Hey, let’s talk about October! (Yes, really. My October Moments of the Month Post is ALWAYS late, I’m pretty sure. Do you know what they say about October in photography circles? They say “October is for photographers what April is for accountants.” And it’s really true.) So, anyway ….
Obviously, a lot went on in October. And lots of it was captured on my iPhone instead of on my big-girl camera. Which is fine. But the darned iPhone kept getting CLOGGED UP with too many photos, too, so I often found myself frantically deleting photos from my camera roll (and THEN from my “recently deleted folder”! Ack!) instead of either taking a photo or enjoying a moment. Which is enough to make a girl crazy.
But that’s not really October’s fault. It was a good month. My baby boy turned 8 and continued to pretend that he’s not my baby. (But he totally is). My older three continued to roll their eyes when the camera was pointed in their general direction — they’re much easier to get when they’re playing sports or on their way out the door to a fancy-shmancy sweet sixteen. 🙂 And life rolls along…
This time of year — finishing up my busy season and reflecting on how much of a slacker I’ve been about taking photos of my own kids during the everyday moments I love best — always inspire me to refocus on those moments and to document them better and more creatively. So, you’ve been warned.
My “One Second Every Day” video project continues and you can see October HERE. (Again, with the ‘no storage on my phone’ excuse, slightly less plush than in prior months, but I’ll take what I can get).
Thanks for looking!
