There are only two more days left of 2013. Holy moly!
This is a time of year for reflection and resolutions and new starts. Well, here’s one for me. The other day I was flipping few a book of quotes that one of my kiddos gave me for Christmas. I get one pretty much every year — if you hang around here much, you know how I love my quotes — but this one is a pretty exceptional collection. It’s called “A Collection of Brilliant Quotations for a Beautiful Life.”
Anyway, as I flipped through the book, I kept imagining the pictures that would go great with some of the quotes. And I hatched a new idea for a 2014 project — I’m calling it “Words and Pictures,” and as usual, a picture explains it better than any more words could, so here’s my first installment:
I’ve got some ideas in mind about how it will work … but I’m not telling you what they are just yet. Maybe there’ll be a schedule of posts, or maybe I’ll just pop in now and then with contributions to the project. I’m trying not to make this a “project” in the sense that I’ll have deadlines to meet and things to stress out about, you see. Already, by posting today instead of on the first day of 2014, I’m breaking a little rule for a 2014 project, if you think about it. But I don’t want this to be about rules or structure — we all know that too much of that will take the fun out of anything. If a particular structure evolves organically I may just confess to it down the road — we’ll see. I do know that I’ll post the photos on Facebook and will keep them all in this new gallery I’ve created just for them HERE — you can access it any time from the gallery tab in my site menu, above. Sounds kinda fun, huh? Follow along with me if you like…
And happy New Year!
