“Sisters are different flowers from the same garden.” ~Unknown
One of the things I love about getting to know all the different families I photograph is seeing how very different siblings are from each other. I remember when my first two were little — they were a year apart, so they really were babies together, and they had the same parents (as opposed to my third and fourth children, who get to deal with our slightly older, more experienced selves). Yet even from the very beginning, they were completely different people with totally unique personalities. Each successive kid has cemented my opinion that babies are born with their personalities built in. We can affect how they deal with things a little bit by how we parent them, but mostly all we’re doing as we “raise” them is get to know what those personalities are and help them along as best we can.
