Now THIS is a wonderful time of year. It’s AFTER the crazy, “see all the people, buy all the gifts, send out the cards, wrap all the gifts, plan all the meals, go to all the gatherings, get-everything-done-in-time, cook and bake and visit and rush and eat and drink and stay up late” frenzy, but BEFORE the “get back on track, resolve to eat well, resume the exercise routine, finally get organized, finish all the things you put off until after the holidays, this time I mean it” date with reality that the new year brings. You let out a long, slow exhale. You play with toys, clean up a little, sit around a lot. You spend real, unhurried time with the people that matter the most.
I hope that your holidays were filled with real moments like these, and that 2011 brings many more happy times.
