Hi guys! I, for one, am getting excited for these free micro mini sessions next weekend. How about you? These are obviously pretty different from a full lifestyle experience (What’s the difference, Jaye?), but I hope one thing the two have in common will be that they’re FUN. Please review the following and let me know if you have any questions at ALL.
Have you done this yet? This is reeeeaaallly important — it helps me get ready for your session and can help everything go smoothly.
I’ll be doing the sessions at Hudson Park in New Rochelle. There are a few great locations right near each other that will allow us to move around a little and get some variety in our photos.
Hudson Park is located at 1 Hudson Park Road in New Rochelle, NY 10801
When it’s your kids’ time for photos, I ask that you meet me in the far, far corner of the parking lot — keep driving to the very back of the parking lot, bearing to the right at the end of the road. You’ll see a staircase and a “No Fishing” sign right up near the water. (Last weekend when I was scouting, there was a little American flag atop the fence post there). I’ll meet you on those stairs. While I may not be standing there when you arrive, I will run out and pick you up when it’s your scheduled time. I recommend that you arrive a few minutes early but stay warm in the car until I come get you. PLEASE — and I know I’m harping on this — layer on the scarves, sweaters, mittens, coats and hats for these minis. I’ve been doing outdoor mini sessions for a LOT of years now, and I have discovered a very simple formula. Here it is: WARM KIDS = HAPPY KIDS.
If you can’t find me at your scheduled time, call my cell at (914)263-0236.
I highly recommend that you plan to get to the location a few minutes early so that we can get started right on time. It’s a pretty tight schedule, and I’ll have to stop shooting ten minutes after your scheduled time to prepare for the next session, so lateness will mean a reeeeallly short session — and they’re already pretty short! Let’s use the time to help everyone relax and have a good time.
Not a thing, other than your kids and as many good moods as you can manage! 😉 I know that this is sometimes easier said than done — just remember that some grumpiness is totally expected (especially when little kids are involved) and that you should do your best to RELAX. Stress is like oxygen to grumpiness. Seriously — allow it to dissipate rather than feeding it with your stress — and give me room to work my magic. 😉 I promise, it’s all good.
I’m going to think positive thoughts and WILL it not to rain. This fall has spoiled me, and I’m already definitely a glass-half-full person. Don’t worry, though. If it’s REALLY yucky out, I’ll be in touch about rescheduling.
We’ll be chatting between now and then through your Client Info Form and agreement and with a few more email updates. If you have ANY questions, call or email me any time! (I’m at (914)263-0236 or jaye@jayemclaughlin.com
This is gonna be fun!
