I know how it is – you really, really love photos and the magic powers they have to solidify the moments that you see skidding by in your everyday life. Photos like these make you realize that you WANT more photos to serve as anchors for your memories of these moments.
But.
It’s not that easy to get photos like the ones you see in my family (or newborn!) portfolio. First, you’ve got to slow down enough and remember to TRY to take the photo. Once upon a time, you might have felt limited by the gear you have available to you. And then, if you got through those two hurdles, you might have been disappointed with your results.
In recent years, though, the reality is that the little computer you keep within arms reach at all times can take some darn good photos. And the truth is that learning a few tips for using that tiny, powerful tool can change what your collection of memory-savers can look like.
That’s what I had in mind in April 2020 when I put this free class together.
Remember April 2020? The world had just basically shut down. Many of us (cough, cough) threw themselves into pandemic projects. I was writing a book proposal and creating a photo story and redecorating my dining room AND! planning a free webinar about taking better photos of your family. It was fun, but other than a couple of attempts to share this unwieldy replay to curious families who asked, I didn’t do anything further with it. Until … today!
Below is a replay of my April 2, 2000 free class/webinar titles “Freeze Ray Basics: Taking Better Photos of Your Family in the Time of the Global Pandemic.” It won’t teach you “photography”, per se, but I betcha it’ll really improve the results you get when you take a photo.
Enjoy!
If this kind of thing interests you, you might also enjoy some of the free resources I have collected on my “Freeze Ray Basics”/Parent Education page.
Thanks for looking!
