This month, NAPCP (The National Association of Professional Child Photographers) was looking for submissions for the “lifestyle” issue of Inspired Magazine. I knew I had to submit. And as usual, it’s always a thrill when one of my images gets chosen for publication:
(Also in this issue was a recap of the Elevate Creative Small Business Summit I attended in Nashville in January — I’ll tell you all about that in a future post!)
When describing what my family sessions are like, I frequently call my style a “Catch and Release” approach. (I DO know that that phrase has much more to do with fishing than photography, but I use the term my own way, OK?). My goal is to capture the real stuff and most of that is unscripted. Taking the photo from the hallway, peeking into two separate rooms where two loving parents are doing separate parenting jobs, communicates to the viewer that this would be happening anyway — they’re not doing anything for my benefit.
Thank you, NAPCP, for featuring this fun image!
Thanks for looking,
~Jaye
