“My kids are in transition, as children always are…my daughter at 5 is saying goodbye to her Preschool days, and I know that her princess & fairy dress up moments are starting to slip away. My son at 7 is more big kid than little kid with each passing day.
As soon as I saw Jaye’s work, I knew that I wanted her to photograph them. Jaye arrived at my house, sprinkled fairy dust on my children, and made them fly! She captured amazing images of my thumb-sucking daughter in her ballet and baby doll days, my son’s hockey fandom, and only partially grown in front teeth. I’m so relieved, ecstatic & beyond grateful to have these moments frozen in time. Thank you for a fun day that will last always Jaye!!”
I met this family briefly at last year’s free Christmas Card Micro Mini Session Event, and I knew right away that they were going to be added to the list of LYYP faves. Both kids are super sweet and comfortable in front of the camera (and gorgeous, obviously), but it was more than that. They adore each other and immediately started giving me the kind of cuddly interactions that I tend to die over — it was freezing that day and they came to me cuddled together, wrapped in the same blanket. Sigh. (Also ohmigoodness I still haven’t blogged those).
We had even more fun with mom and dad at their home last month. (Of course, leisurely Connecticut family photography sessions at home are going to be more fun than quick mini shoots in a park, but again it was more than that). Reading mom’s guest blog post above further solidified what was evident during the session — both mom and dad are loving where they are in their lives with their kids right now, and they recognize how fleeting this time is. And they want to keep these moments. It makes me soooo happy and proud to be able to do that for them.
Here are a few more of my personal faves from the session …
I’m loving these new “In Their Words” blog posts, in which my wonderful LYYP clients come on as guest bloggers and share some favorite photos from their sessions. If your LYYP session has not already been blogged by yours truly, YOU can be the next guest blogger! Drop me a line to let me know you’re interested and we can talk details (and I can fill you in on what the perks of being a guest are 😉
Thanks for looking,
Jaye
