Hooray, hooray, hooray!
Hooray!
I must be the most annoying person ever to be around during the days leading up to the annual PCT production. I am so completely infected with the PCT magic that I can’t stop talking about how incredible all the actors, directors, volunteers are … and what a wonderful, unique program PCT is … and how lucky we are here in Pelham to be able to offer it to our fifth and sixth grade children.
This year, it was easier than usual, because it was truly a family affair. My sixth grader was one of the actors — he honestly and truly had a great time, and I know it was a fantastic experience for him on many levels. Both of my high schoolers volunteered running the ‘kisses for the cast’ table, and my littlest guy was given an official shirt just because he was constantly around helping out. I’m so proud of all of them!
Speaking of pride, there’s a lot to be proud of — the production was excellent, and a huge success. These kids put on a great show, and they really had a ball. Today, I showed this slide show at the cast party, and I think it really shows the development of this talented group from auditions, through early rehearsals, and right through to the show. To hear almost 70 fifth and sixth graders singing along at full volume as it played says a lot about what the experience has meant to them. Parents — I’m willing to bet that there’s going to be a bit of a let-down period as they come off their PCT highs!
Hope this slideshow will help with the transition.
All of the photos in the slideshow are available for free download here on the LYYP site — just go to “proofing” on the top left and enter the PCT backstage password to access the proofs. The photos will be there for thirty days, so don’t wait.
Enjoy, and thanks for looking!
